Zalmunna was a Midianite king whom Gideon pursued and defeated with his small army of three hundred men when the Midianites invaded Israel. Gideon captured and killed both Zalmunna and his co-ruler Zebah, ending their oppression of God's people. The Psalms later invoked their defeat as a sign of God's power over Israel's enemies.
