A scribe and trusted associate of the prophet Jeremiah, Baruch recorded Jeremiah's prophecies and read them publicly in the temple. When King Jehoiakim burned Jeremiah's scroll, Baruch and Jeremiah rewrote it together. He also witnessed Jeremiah's symbolic purchase of a field, documenting the prophet's message of hope that Israel would return and rebuild.
